“The Cortland Academy in Homer: Its Origins and History”
Please join Martin Sweeney, Historian for the Town and Village of Homer, to learn more about the beginnings of a school on the green in Homer. This year is the bicentennial of state-approved education in Homer, NY. There has been a state-approved school on the Homer Green since 1819, starting with the Cortland Academy. Some highlights of the origin and history of that academy will be discussed.
